Context
- Mobile service and information hub for agricultural customers
- Brings BayWa Portal services into a field-ready, everyday app
- Combines account access, advisory content, and commerce in one mobile experience
Agricultural work does not happen in neatly separated steps. From our point of view, that is exactly why the BayWa Portal App matters. A day may begin with weather and market information, move into a purchasing decision later on, and still require access to invoices, product documents, or newsletters before it is over. What we value in this product is that it brings those touchpoints together in one mobile place instead of scattering them across different systems.
We read BayWa's own description of the app as the perfect entry into the BayWa Portal, and that framing feels right. It is not just a smaller version of a shop. It is the mobile front door to a broader service relationship built around information, advice, and transaction.

Core differentiator
What makes the app work is the mix of utility and relevance. It gives users simple, recurring reasons to come back: weather and market updates in the morning, advisory or campaign content during the day, and account or document access whenever follow-up is needed.
- Start the day with weather, market data, and current agricultural news
- Move from advisory or campaign content into search, cart, or shop behavior
- Return to invoices, orders, newsletters, nutrient tables, and goods documentation through account shortcuts
- Use push notifications and current offers as natural re-entry points during the week
That is what gives the product more substance than a standard commerce app. In our view, it supports day-to-day awareness, product discovery, and service follow-up in the same environment.
What the product delivers
- Local weather and agricultural market data
- Offers and campaign updates, including push notifications
- Shop, search, and cart access for BayWa Portal users
- Quick entry points to invoices, orders, newsletters, nutrient tables, and goods documentation
- One app that supports both information discovery and action
- BayWa product pages also describe advisory content such as crop-protection notes, fertilization guidance, crop-production recommendations, variety information, and trial results
Contribution note
BasalBit GmbH contributed directly as the delivery company on this project. Our work covered software development and delivery for a mobile product that turns a broad agriculture service landscape into something people can actually use on a phone.
What makes the reference valuable is the balance it had to strike: self-service, advisory content, and transactional behavior all needed to live together without turning the app into a confusing portal clone. That balance is where the product earns its quality.
