2. Data We Process

When you contact us through the contact form or by email, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, project details, and optional contact information.

3. Access Data and Server Logs

When you visit this website, technical access data may be processed automatically to deliver the requested pages and protect the website. This can include visited page, date and time of access, transferred data volume, referrer URL, browser type, operating system, IP address, host name, and server log information.

Server logs are used for technical operation, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. They are deleted or anonymized when no longer required, unless a specific incident requires longer retention for evidence or legal reasons.

4. Purposes and Legal Bases

  • Website delivery, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Responding to inquiries and preparing or performing contracts based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
  • Complying with statutory obligations based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
  • Consent-based processing based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where applicable.
  • Storage of or access to information on your device, where relevant, according to the applicable German telecommunications and digital-services privacy rules.

5. Contact Form and Web3Forms

The contact form submits the information you enter to Web3Forms so the message can be delivered to us. Please do not send confidential information through the website form unless a suitable agreement exists. You can also contact us directly by email at info@basalbit.com.

6. Cookies, Local Storage, and Language Preference

This website uses the URL path to show the selected language, for example /de/ for German pages. The language switcher does not need to store a language preference in your browser's local storage.

For indicative currency display, the website may read browser-provided region signals such as your browser language list and time zone setting. This is processed in your browser and is not used for precise location tracking. We do not use IP-based geolocation or GPS/browser geolocation to determine currency on this website.

7. Google Maps

Some pages embed Google Maps to show our office location. When the map loads, Google may process technical data such as your IP address and browser information. Google is responsible for its own processing under its privacy terms.

8. Recipients, Processors, and Third Countries

We use technical service providers to operate this website, transmit form submissions, and maintain communication. These providers process data only as required for the respective service and, where necessary, under data-processing agreements.

If a provider processes personal data outside the EU or EEA, we use the transfer mechanisms required by GDPR. Depending on the provider and destination country, this may include an EU adequacy decision, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

9. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, contractual relationship, statutory retention duty, or legitimate documentation interest. Contact inquiries are deleted or archived when no longer needed, unless legal obligations require longer retention.

10. Consent Withdrawal and Objection

If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent with future effect at any time. If processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. If personal data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time.

11. Your Rights

Subject to legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent with future effect.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

12. Security and Email Communication

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. Data transmission over the internet, including communication by email, can nevertheless have security gaps. Complete protection against access by third parties cannot be guaranteed.

13. External Links

This website may link to third-party services such as LinkedIn, GitHub, app stores, or project source pages. Their operators are responsible for their own data processing and privacy information.
